About Mend

You have probably been let down by a supplement before.

Someone handed you a name, or a list, and left you to work out the rest.

So you bought the cheapest version on the shelf, because they all looked the same and no one told you otherwise. It upset your stomach, or it did nothing you could feel, and after a week or two you quietly stopped. The bottle is probably still in a drawer somewhere.

If that is familiar, you are the reason this exists. Not the wellness crowd. You: tired, careful, and out of patience for products that make you feel worse.

Dr Asif Ahmed, founder of Mend

So I made the one I wanted to hand them.

In clinic I saw the same thing on repeat. People taking a magnesium that upset them, or the wrong form for what they needed, or a dose too high to tolerate. Careful people, doing the sensible thing, and being punished for it.

When I looked for one I could recommend without a caveat, it did not exist. Every option asked them to accept oxide, or stearate, or a proprietary blend that told them nothing about what they were swallowing. So I built the one I wanted to put in their hands. That is the whole of it. No epiphany, no origin story. A gap in front of me, and the training to fill it.

What we hold ourselves to

Four promises.

These are not aspirations. They are the conditions a Mend product has to meet before it exists.

Full label transparency, always

Every ingredient, and exactly how much of it, on the label. If you cannot tell how much is in the capsule, we have failed.

No proprietary blends

A blend is a place to hide how little of something is present. We will never use one.

Forms chosen for tolerability

We choose the forms your body absorbs and tolerates, not the ones that are cheapest to buy.

Independent testing, every batch

Not the first batch, to earn a certificate for the website. Every batch, by an independent lab, before it reaches you.

And what we won't

What Mend will not do.

Most of this category is built on doing the opposite. Saying it plainly is the point.

Promise a cure

Magnesium is genuinely useful. It is not a miracle, and we will only ever state what the evidence and the regulator allow.

Sell you fear

We will not invent a deficiency, a toxin, or a threat to move a bottle. If you do not need this, we would rather you kept your money.

Pretend we replace your doctor

A supplement is not medical care. If you are unwell, the most important relationship you have is with your clinician. Not with us.

Where this goes

Magnesium first, because it is where the need is clearest.

The magnesium market is one of the worst for the things we care about: cheap forms, hidden doses, and promises no one can keep. It was the obvious place to start.

Other formulations will follow, held to the same four promises. If a product cannot meet them, it will not ship. That is a real constraint, not a slogan.

Stay in touch

Hear when there is something worth hearing.

We write rarely, and only when there is something worth saying. Leave your email and we will let you know when the next formulation is ready.
